Precision brain care. Backed by neuroscience. Focused on you.

We are a neuroscience-led brain health hub, integrating advanced diagnostics, neuromodulation and compassionate psychiatric care, designed for modern, complex minds. We go beyond labels. We focus on understanding how your brain works — and how to support it to function better across life.
Why Refocus Exists
Refocus was created because too many people reach adulthood exhausted, misunderstood, and unsupported — their struggles labelled as “difficult” rather than properly understood. We believe psychiatry needs to evolve alongside neuroscience, moving beyond symptom management toward a more personalised understanding of the brain and long-term brain health.
At Refocus, we bridge traditional psychiatry with modern brain science by combining medical expertise, objective brain data, evidence-based neuromodulation, and lived experience. Many people come to us after feeling stuck, misunderstood, or unsupported elsewhere. Others simply want a deeper understanding of how their brain works. Our philosophy is simple: the brain deserves the same precision, curiosity, and personalised approach as any other organ in medicine.
We believe the brain deserves the same precision approach as any other organ.
Decisions based on brain data, not just questionnaires.
Each assessment is conducted by a specialist registered with the GMC.
No long NHS waiting lists. No referral from your family doctor.
Continuous care and personalized support throughout your life.
Science-led. Human-centred. Neurodiversity-informed.
Evidence-based care with full medical oversight.
We use brain data to guide decisions – not questionnaires alone.
A diagnosis is a starting point, not the end of care.
Our clinicians understand neurodivergence and deliver compassionate care.
Brains, hormones, and demands change—support should too.
Refocus Supports Children, Adolescents And Adults, Including:
Where ADHD has been masked or misunderstood
Experiencing chronic overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, or cognitive fatigue
Struggling with emotional regulation, mental health, or school demands
When hormones and neurodivergence collide
Seeking cognitive optimisation and brain resilience
Seeking cognitive optimisation and brain resilience
As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over two decades of experience, I’ve devoted my career to understanding the developing brain—its strengths, its challenges, and its immense capacity to change. My specialist focus in neurodevelopmental disorders and neuropsychiatry has shaped not only my work, but my identity.
I have spent over twenty years working with children, young people, ADHD, autism, and mental health every single day. And yet, there was still a point where I could not fully understand what was happening to my own brain
From the outside, I still looked functional: Working. Leading. Supporting others. Holding everything together. But internally, something was changing. The focus I had relied on my whole life became harder to hold onto. The overwhelm became louder. The emotional exhaustion became deeper. Simple things suddenly required enormous effort.
And despite all my training, experience, and years in psychiatry, I still struggled to find answers. Was it burnout? ADHD? Hormones? Perimenopause? Chronic stress? Years of masking and overcompensating? Or all of them interacting together?
From that search for answers, Refocus The Brain Hub was created. It reflects my commitment to offering something more precise, more modern, and more human—bringing together neuroscience, technology, and compassionate psychiatric care.
Here, our goal is simple:
Refocus is a clinician-led diagnostic and support hub that refuses to treat psychiatry in isolation, addressing mental health beyond the boundaries of traditional methods. We integrate standard psychiatric assessments with applied neuroscience (qEEG mapping, neurofeedback, TMS magnetic stimulation) and neuro-hormonal expertise, offering a complete understanding of the brain within the context of the entire body.
Yes, all of our neurodevelopmental and psychiatric assessments are officially recognized. The diagnostic process is led by consultant psychiatrists, strictly follows NICE clinical guidelines, and aligns with CAAQAS national quality standards. Our detailed written reports can be used officially with schools, GPs, and support authorities.
We offer specialized services across the lifespan, covering the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Our assessment and intervention formats are strictly adapted based on age and the patient’s capacity for clinical engagement.
General psychiatric consultations and ADHD assessments can be safely conducted remotely via secure video consultations. For autism assessments (ASD), the face-to-face format is available from age 5, while the online format is available from age 8. This is because remote observation clinical protocols (ADOS-2) are validated exclusively for modules intended for older children and adolescents.
qEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) brain mapping is a completely non-invasive procedure that records the natural electrical activity of the brain using sensors placed on the scalp. It does not transmit electrical current, radiation, or stimulation into the brain, acting as a passive monitoring method. It is an extremely safe procedure for all ages and serves as a starting point for personalizing our brain training programs.
Within our applied neuroscience pillar, we offer three types of advanced technological interventions:
Exomind® TMS: a non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation system that sends targeted pulses to neural networks responsible for focus and mood.
Neurofeedback (NeurOptimal®): a brain training method using real-time visual and auditory feedback to support the self-regulation of the central nervous system.
Photobiomodulation (tPBM): a therapy based on specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate cellular energy and brain network recovery.
No, all of our advanced technology services within the neuroscience pillar (Exomind TMS, Neurofeedback, and Photobiomodulation) require physical presence. These sessions are delivered exclusively in a clinical setting under specialist supervision at our Manchester location.
The NeuroHormone Clinic™ is an ultra-specialized service dedicated to women aged 40+. It focuses on the direct interaction between midlife hormonal decline (perimenopause and menopause) and executive brain functions, providing clear answers for women whose ADHD symptoms, brain fog, or emotional reactivity have worsened during this biological stage.
Yes, through our Refocus Care pillar, we offer ongoing treatment pathways. This includes the structured titration and management of ADHD medication (for both adolescents and adults), as well as personalized prescribing and monitoring for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), led by consultant psychiatrists and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
To secure an appointment at our clinic, an initial deposit of £250 is required. Receiving the deposit unlocks your secure patient portal (the Medesk system), granting immediate access to the mandatory clinical questionnaires that you, your family, or the school must complete prior to the formal evaluation. The remaining balance for your chosen package must be paid in full before the scheduled consultation date.
